A covenant is a holy agreement founded on love. It is a sacred promise which embraces God’s will. To his children, God has promised an immortal soul, an individual identity, the freedom to choose, and the ability to experience life. What does it mean to experience life? Think of it this way. Can you revel in calm seas if you’ve never faced turbulent waters? Can you rejoice in the sun’s warmth if you’ve never been numbed by the cold? Can you celebrate the light of dawn if you’ve never feared the night? And can you wholly know love if your heart has not been broken?
